Description
The course participants meet every week in person or live online for eight weeks time for 2.5 hours weekly for eight weeks, There is also an “All- day” class (a silent retreat day) between the 6th and 7th week on a weekend day, from 8:45 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Participants will receive a course workbook for completing various exercises and for study purpose.
Aim of the Course:
To learn how to be fully aware and present in each moment of life and experience a more enjoyable, vivid, and fulfilling life. It requires gently turning towards what is present, even when it is unpleasant and difficult, and ‘being with’ whatever is there in the moment. This can be challenging for some people, so you need to discuss it with your MBSR Teacher if you are unsure if it is the right time for you to take the course. The eight-week course is based upon the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program, developed in the United States by Jon Kabat Zinn. It is also built up from our personal experiences of mindfulness practice, and we hope that it will provide rich sources of inspiration for you. Over the subsequent eight sessions, we will be developing a solid foundation of mindfulness. What is mindfulness? Jon Kabat-Zinn, one of the founders of MBSR, defines mindfulness as: “the awareness that unfolds as we pay attention, on purpose, in the present moment.”
